About the Library
Amanda Kynaston

The Library is the school's centre for Information Literacy. As knowledge migrates from physical books to online services it is essential the Library follows suit and provides the school community with necessary Information Technology tool-sets.

Library techology is centred around providing enhanced presentation, communication and, most importantly, research  services.

We have 14 modern networked computers available for formal teaching. These machines (which are in addition to those in the IT Learning centre) are provided purely to facilitate research tasks.

Students can also access these PCs during lunch, per a class roster. All computers are Windows based, have MS Office installed and are connected to the Internet via the secure DET network. Scanners are available for students to turn hardcopy items into digital assets.

The Library will continue to provide innovative technology aids - the first iPADs will be available shortly.

The best web and PC based resources are also integrated into lessons via interactive Smartboards which combine the benefits of traditional whiteboards with the power of computers.

Finally the Library houses one of two video conferencing systems installed at TPS.  These state-of-the-art Tandberg (Cisco)  products allow classes to interact with other schools and participate in Department of Education run special events.
