Premier's Reading ChallengeThis years PRC begins from March 05, 2018
Please start reading from the lists and register as you go using the PRC on-line form and your library username and password. 2018 PRC Outline
“The Challenge aims to encourage in students a love of reading for leisure and pleasure, and to enable students to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.” Students in K-2 are required to read 30 books from the relevant PRC booklists (including 5 free choice books). Students in Years 3-6 are required to read 20 books from the relevant PRC booklists (including 5 free choice books). Successful participants will receive an official certificate at the end of the year. At TPS, all participants who complete the challenge have their name displayed in the Library. _________________________________________ PRC 2018 - The Basics Get a copy of the reading list relevant for your year and start reading! You can register your books as you complete them online. Use your computer lesson username and password. For convenience, you can register the books you read onto a Personal Reading Log sheet available from the TPS Library, or online from here. You will still need to (re)enter the books into the PRC website prior to deadline. Make sure all your books are electronically registered at least a week before the PRC formally completes on August 31 2018. __________________________________________________________ Additional information can be obtained from the PRC website. I strongly recommend you read the rules page and some specific limits on the book list page relating to how book series are dealt with. If you are still unsure of something, please speak to your Teacher Librarian. In a Nutshell - Reading Requirements 2018 Parents please note: Column 2 is the total number of books required to be read. Column 3 and 4 break this number down into how many need to be from the PRC list (col3) and how many can come from free choice (col4). |
